A social platform for creating invite-only, location-based discussions and events
This is the want: - Maps are always invite only - Maps are based on the real world, but can be extended to add additional areas, locked and not locked portals to other maps - Discussions can be started anywhere on a map (auto vanish after 7 days) - Full notifications system of when a discussion starts, and where "Alec started a discussion in Muller Woods", "Rebecca replied to your discussion in Barton Springs" - People can gain access to more maps via invite from other people the meet on shared maps (identical to IRL organic, click on another player, invite them to another map, or give them a key) - Joining an event automatically jumps them there when it starts - Events can be marked as online or offline The unknowns: - How can it not be time consuming to make and 'play' - Is it a game - Can people create their own maps End goal: - Focus on small community that can organically grow and shrink (No unknown people walking around) - Mixed map of real world + fictional (ex. can have Austin Spaceport as a discussion starter) - Actually get to know everyone better, not wasteful social media that doesn't actually work (Total replacement for Insta, FB, Meetup, Google Maps, Calendar, pretty much everything) Why offline-only doesn't work: - Not enough chances to meet (If you don't live in the same building you never see each other organically) - Not enough reasons to meet (If you don't meet enough you don't know enough about each other) - Difficult to go deep (Only meeting for kids to play means in actuality only kids get talked about, and it doesn't make sense to introduce new topics then. Deeper conversations work better slow + async, in the background, not in the spotlight) - No reason to make new connections (If you know nothing about someone, they are basically a stranger and there's nothing to say, BUT if they started an interesting conversation in Central Park, well now it's time to talk) - Simply not enough offline time is available, an online platform can be mixed with offline time (Example: While at work, can't meet up but can explore and talk)
